To access the Journal, you simply need to click the Journal Tab from the navigation tabs. The navigation tabs allow you to quickly access the major features of FitTrend.
The purpose of the Journal Tab is to provide you with the following features:

When you first visit the Journal Calendar, the current month is displayed. At any time you can select a different month by using the month and year navigation section located in the upper left hand corner.

You can view any month of the current year by clicking the desired month. If you wish to view a different year, simply click on the arrows to the left (to go back a year) and right (to go forward a year) of the year. Once you have selected the desired year, clicking a month will display the calendar for that month.
No matter which month and year you are referencing, there are certain icons that represent certain types of runs, races, events, activities, and notes.
| This icon represents a run | |
| This icon represents a race | |
| This icon represents a schedule event | |
| Many icons represent various activities. Currently over 100 different icons are available to represent a selected activity. | |
| This icon represents a note made by you. | |
| This icon represents a note made by a coach. |
All event, with the exception of notes and coach notes, will also have information about the event to the right of the icon. You can modify the details of that event by clicking the information. To modify or view any type of note, you simply need to click the note icon.
The main menu is where you can add new runs, races, events, activities, and notes to your calendar. By clicking histogram, you can view detailed daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly information about your recorded data. Clicking on any of these options will redirect you to the proper screen.

The other option available from the main menu allows you to log out of FitTrend and terminate your session. Optionally, you can simply close the browser window and that will also end your session as well. You are not required to click the logout option to properly end your session.
The third major area of your Journal is the Statistical Summary. This section provides you with an overview of your runs, races, and cross training activities. At a quick glance, you can determine how much time, calories, average pace and distance for the selected month. The percentages and averages provided here are based on all days in the selected month. For example: If you ran 5 days a week in May 2004, the daily averages and percentages will be based on 31 days (the total number of days for that month).

The Statistical Summary will automatically update as you add runs, races, and cross training activities to the current month. Additionally, it will automatically calculate the monthly summary for any month selected from the Journal Calendar.
